I just got back from a trip through East Texas, including hiking in the Big Thicket to see the carnivorous plants, visiting my hometown, seeing the Saratoga ghost lights, and searching for a hard-to-reach private cemetery. It was invigorating and exhausting at the same time, but it was worth it to add the final setting polish to my novel Pineywoods.
